Dorothy Aseyo Asuza is a feminist Senior Gender development and Sustainability practitioner and Expert with proficiency in programing, managing and coordinating development programs coupled with over 15 years of successful experience towards delivery in integrated multi sectoral programs focusing on Gender and sustainable development.

Currently, Dorothy is a Senior Programme Manager at CARE International in charge of the Women’s Voice and Leadership program supporting Institutional capacity building and strengthening of women rights organizations and the women movements.

She also Co – Chair’s the National Steering committee for the Youth Advocacy project (Y-Act) AMREF Health Africa that seeks to strengthen the voice, skills and participation of the youth across Kenya and a nexus to the Pan African Youth UHC Advocacy platform to advocate for youth identified policy and resource priorities at Regional, National, Sub-national and grassroots levels with a focus on policies that uphold gender equality, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and mental health.

Previously, Dorothy was a Senior Program Manager for Shining Hope for Communities (SHOFCO) where she focused on designing, programming and managing gender transformative development programs for urban informal settlements in Kenya. In addition a senior program Officer at Action Aid International in charge of women, Land rights and other natural resources. Also a former Program Manager at ACE Africa in charge of the OVC and Livelihood programs.

She also sits on several Boards for Women and Youth Led Organizations.

Dorothy is also a trained Sustainability Champion by University of Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership. She is a member of the Association of Sustainability Practitioners in Kenya. She holds a Masters of Arts in Gender and Development studies from UON. She is a Fellow of the Young African Leaders Initiative East and Central Africa and an alumnus of the Grant Me The Wisdom Foundation.

Dorothy endeavors to scale up/ amplify her work and support in gender transformative development driven by her strong feminist commitment to equitable development and social justice. It’s her desire to witness a transformed, liberated and equitable society and all living with dignity.
